Man wanted in NYC apprehended in Utica

A man wanted in New York City for attempted murder was found in Utica on Wednesday.

Police said they pulled over a vehicle on Sunset Avenue on Wednesday for driving with illegal temporary license plates from Texas. Officers approached the vehicle and police said the passenger gave a clearly fictitious name.

One of the officers recognized the passenger as 33-year-old Travis Eddington, of Utica, because of a warrant out of New York City, police said. Eddington is wanted on charges of attempted murder and possession of a weapon, authorities stated. Eddington was taken into custody.

The driver of the vehicle was issued several tickets.
