Man to face drugged driving charge


LOWVILLE — A Lewis County man was charged with driving under the influence of drugs following an accident Tuesday morning, according to a report from local law enforcement

Sheriff’s deputies said Matthew P. Caterham, 36, of Lowville, was in an accident on Route 12 at about 9:51 a.m. Deputies said Caterham failed several field sobriety tests, and he was tested by a drug recognition expert at the Sheriff’s Office.

Caterham is charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, deputies said.

He was released on an appearance ticket for Village Court at a later date, the law enforcers added.
