WESTMORELAND — One driver was hospitalized and another ticketed following a two-car crash at Route 26 and Skinner Road early Saturday morning.

Sheriff's deputies said William Osborne, 48, of Holland Patent, was westbound on Skinner at about 4:35 a.m. when he stopped at the stop sign and proceeded forward across Route 26 — right into the path of oncoming Francis Peck, 56, of Holland Patent.

Deputies said Peck's 2009 Chevy pickup crashed into the driver's side of Osborne's 2018 Chevy pickup. The crash caused Peck's pickup to travel off the west shoulder and into a tree about 40-feet off the roadway, authorities stated.

Peck was taken to St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica for chest pain, deputies said. Osborne was ticketed for failure to yield, deputies stated. He is scheduled to appear in Town Court.
