A Lewis County man has been sentenced in federal court to nearly 8 1/2 years in prison after being found guilty on charges of methamphetamine and weapons possession.

Victor Ehlers, 37, of Lyons Falls, was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Syracuse on Tuesday to 101 months in prison, followed by three-years of post-release supervision, on charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm to assist in drug trafficking and possession of firearms and ammunition by a drug user, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Authorities said in March 2018, Ehlers cooked and sold meth out of his Lyons Falls home in Lewis County.

Authorities said Ehlers had multiple firearms in his home, including a machine gun and silencers.
