A Utica man is accused of sexually abusing an underage child in the city.
Tashawn Gilmore, 28, of Utica, had sexual contact with a child less than 14-years-old in Utica, according to Invs. Ryan Marshall and Mark Chrysler with the county Child Advocacy Center.
Gilmore was taken into custody this week on one count each of second-degree sex abuse and endangering the welfare of a child, both misdemeanors, authorities said.
Gilmore was arraigned in court and is scheduled to reappear to answer the charges, according to the law enforcement officials.
An order of protection was filed against Gilmore on behalf of the victim, who has also been offered counseling through the CAC, authorities added.
