UTICA — Accused of trespassing on a bus that was only meant for disabled people, one man has been charged in Utica, according to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s deputies said Eric Pinto, no address given, boarded a Centro bus in Utica Tuesday afternoon, and was told that he needed to get off because the bus was only for disabled people who were scheduled to be on the bus.

The bus was not for general public transportation. The bus was in the traffic circle at the Oneida County Office Building, and deputies in the building were notified of the disturbance.

Authorities said Pinto refused to get off the bus, even when confronted by sheriff’s deputies and a Centro supervisor. He was told he would be charged with trespassing, authorities stated.

Pinto was taken into custody and struggled with the deputies, authorities said. Pinto is charged with trespass and resisting arrest. He is scheduled to appear in Utica City Court.
