Man charged with public lewdness at Rome YMCA


A 58-year-old man is accused of lewd propositions and acts at the Rome YMCA, according to law enforcement officials.

Turned out the victim he approached was an off-duty police officer.

Authorities said Charles W. Trachsel propositioned another man for a sexual act at the YMCA at about 7:15 p.m. Friday, the other man being an off-duty police officer. Authorities said Trachsel also engaged in a lewd act in front of the officer. Trachsel is charged with one count of public lewdness, police stated. He was released on an appearance ticket to City Court.
