Man charged with drunken driving in Lewis County
LEWIS — A 73-year-old man registered a blood alcohol content of twice the legal limit following a motor vehicle crash in Lewis County Friday evening, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff’s deputies said Richard Caton, of Osceola Road, was traveling northwest on Osceola Road at about 6 p.m. Friday when his 2007 Pontiac G5 went off the roadway into an embankment. Deputies said Caton failed several field sobriety tests at the scene, and he registered a BAC of 0.16% — twice the legal threshold of 0.08%.
Caton is charged with driving while intoxicated and other vehicle and traffic violations, deputies stated.
He was released on appearance tickets for Lewis Town Court.
