Rome man charged with choking woman
ROME — A 42-year-old man is accused of choking his girlfriend during a domestic dispute Sunday night, according to the Rome Police Department.
Police said Matthew J. Pritchard, of Rome, was involved in a dispute with his girlfriend at his residence at about 7 p.m. Sunday. Police said Pritchard pinned the woman against a wall and choked her with both hands.
Pritchard’s young child was also at the residence at the time, authorities noted.
Pritchard was taken into custody on Monday on one count each of second-degree harassment, second-degree imprisonment, criminal obstruction of breathing and endangering the welfare of a child, police said. He is scheduled to appear in Rome City Court.
