Man charged in weekend stabbing at New Hartford motel

NEW HARTFORD — A 44-year-old man is accused of stabbing another person at the Valley Brook Motel on Seneca Turnpike in New Hartford on Saturday afternoon, according to a report by local law enforcement officials.

Police said Dylan Cromp, a resident of the motel, got into an argument with another resident of the motel at about 2 p.m. on Saturday. Police said that during the
dispute, Cromp pulled out a
knife and stabbed the other
person.

The victim was treated at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Hartford for non-life threatening injuries, authorities said.

Cromp is charged with one count each of second-degree assault, a class D felony, and third and fourth-degree possession of a weapon, authorities said.

Cromp is scheduled to appear in court to answer the charges, according to the law enforcement officials.
