Man charged in theft from apartment
UTICA — A Utica man is accused of entering a woman's apartment at Kennedy Plaza and stealing her property, according to the Utica Police Department.
Police said Jahquin Hoston, 24, knocked on the woman's door at about 4:10 p.m. Wednesday, then let himself into her apartment when she answered the door. Police said Hoston grabbed a duffel bag and fled from the apartment.
The woman gave chase and police said Hoston kicked her and struck her in the chest.
Responding officers said they found Hoston in the lobby of the building with the duffel bag and he was taken into custody.
Hoston is charged with one count of felony third-degree robbery, police said. He is scheduled to appear in Utica City Court.
