Accused of choking his girlfriend in front of her three children on Kossuth Street, a 34-year-old man is facing multiple charges, according to law enforcement officials.
Police said Alfonso Petty was in a domestic dispute with his girlfriend at their residence at about 5:40 a.m. March 25. Police said Petty choked the woman and punched her in the face.
The woman’s 11-year-old child witnessed the attack and tried to intervene. Police said Petty threw the child against a wall. The woman’s two other children were also in the home and witnessed the attack, police stated.
Petty fled the scene before law enforcement arrived and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Police said Petty was taken into custody by the state police an unrelated charges at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday.
Petty is charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child and one count each of second-degree strangulation, third-degree assault, second-degree harassment and petty larceny, police stated. He is scheduled to appear in City Court.
