TABERG — A man was charged with failing to supervise a 2-year-old child who was found running in the roadway, almost being struck by several vehicles traveling on Route 69 Saturday.

Deputy Aaron P. Avard said several concerned motorists called 911 at around 11 a.m. to report a child almost being struck several times after running into traffic. The child was secured by a neighbor who brought them home, and it was learned that Lyle W. Jackson, 39, was unaware of the youth’s whereabouts, Avard said.

Jackson was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor. He was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Annsville Town Court.
