A Rome man is accused of breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s home and attacking her Tuesday morning, according to law enforcement officials.
State police said Christopher M. Hildenbrandt, 40, forced his way into his ex’s residence at about 10 a.m. Tuesday, in violation of an order of protection. Troopers said Hildenbrandt grabbed the woman by the throat when she attempted to flee. He was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon.
Hildenbrandt is charged with one count each of first-degree burglary, first-degree contempt, both felonies, and criminal obstruction of breathing, a misdemeanor, troopers said. He is scheduled to appear in court.
