SCHUYLER — A Herkimer County man is accused of stalking a woman after an order of protection had been filed against him, according to the New York State Police.

Troopers said Martin P. Monk, 60, of Stark, repeatedly attempted to contact a woman at the school where she worked in Herkimer County, causing her to fear for her safety.

Troopers said the woman had an order of protection filed against Monk.

Monk was taken into custody on Sept. 23 on one count each of felony first-degree contempt and fourth-degree stalking, a misdemeanor, troopers said.

He was arraigned in court and was sent to the county jail in lieu of $75,000 cash bail or $150,000 bond.

He is scheduled to reappear in Schuyler Town Court on Oct. 18.
