Vienna man accused of sexual abuse of young child, say law enforcers
UTICA — A 40-year-old man is accused of sexually abusing a young child in Utica, according to the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center.
Investigators said Jeremy R. Belden, of Vienna, had subjected a girl under the age of 13 to sexual contact in the City of Utica earlier this week. The authorities were notified on Thursday and Belden was taken into custody at his residence in Vienna on Friday.
Belden is charged with one count of first-degree sexual abuse, a class D felony, authorities said. He was arraigned in Utica City Court and was sent to county jail in lieu of $15,000 bail. He is scheduled to reappear in court.
The victim has been offered counseling through the Child Advocacy Center, and an order of protection was issued on her behalf against Belden.
