Man accused of selling handgun used in Vienna shooting

TOWN OF VIENNA — A third man has been charged in the shooting incident in Vienna earlier this month, accused of selling the handgun to the shooting victim, according to law enforcement officials.

State police said Brian D. Streeter, 33, of Bridgeport, Madison County, sold the 9mm P80 pistol to Todd A. Estes in 2020 for $600 cash. Troopers noted that Streeter has a criminal record.

Authorities said at about 7 a.m. Feb. 2, Estes got into a fight with 35-year-old Nicholas C. Damanski, of Chittenango, at Estes’ home on Route 13 in Vienna. During the scuffle, troopers said Damanski got his hands on Estes’ weapon and shot Estes once in the upper torso. Estes was treated at University Hospital in Syracuse.

Damanski was charged with felony assault and possession of a weapon, troopers said. Estes was later also charged with possession of a weapon. And Streeter is now charged with third-degree possession of a weapon, third-degree sale of a firearm, criminal possession of a firearm, all felonies, and unlawful possession of a large capacity magazine, troopers stated.

Streeter is scheduled to appear in Town Court. Damanski and Estes’ cases remain ongoing.
