TOWN OF SULLIVAN — A 44-year-old Madison County man has been charged with rape and sex abuse after law enforcers said a 14-year-old, developmentally disabled girl was found to be pregnant.
State police said the teenage girl was brought in to Community Memorial Hospital in Hamilton on Tuesday with a sore throat and flu-like symptoms. Troopers said the girl was eventually found to be pregnant, and hospital staffed notified law enforcement.
Following an investigation, state police said they took Glynn W. Collins, 44, of Munnsville into custody. Troopers said he is charged with two counts each of second-degree rape and second-degree criminal sex act, both class D felonies, as well as one count each of second-degree sex abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.
Collins was arraigned in court and was sent to county jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail. He is scheduled to reappear in court on Nov. 11.
