TOWN OF MARTINSBURG — A 23-year-old was charged with driving under the influence of almost three times the legal limit of alcohol following a traffic stop on Route 26 Saturday.

Lewis County Sheriff’s deputies said Darren P. Ortlieb, of Martinsburg, was southbound when he was pulled over for a traffic violation at 10:16 a.m. Ortlieb then submitted to and failed several field sobriety tests at the scene, deputies said.

The driver was later transported to Lewis County Public Safety Building where he registered a blood alcohol content of 0.22 percent, deputies said.
