Man accused of damaging generator at business, violating order of protection

TOWN OF LEE — A Rome man is accused of sabotaging a generator at a business on Turin Road in violation of an order of protection, according to law enforcement officials.

Deputies said Michael J. McClendon, 40, went to the business on Thursday and damaged electrical and fuel lines to a generator. Deputies said the business owner has an order of protection filed against McClendon.

Law enforcement was notified of the damage on Friday and deputies said McClendon turned himself in on Saturday.

McClendon is charged with one count each of fourth-degree mischief and second-degree contempt, both misdemeanors. He is scheduled to appear in court.
