Man accused of damaging door at Rome Health
ROME — A 27-year-old man is accused of causing damage at Rome Health while admitted as a patient, according to the Rome Police Department.
Police said Melvin A. Cruz, of Rome, was in the emergency room at Rome Health on Monday when he became combative and started banging on the door to a nurses station. Police said Cruz pounded on the door with his fist until the glass in the door shattered, causing roughly $500 in damages.
Cruz was charged on Wednesday with one count of third-degree mischief, police said. He is scheduled to appear in Rome City Court.
