Utica man accused of breaking into business
UTICA — A 38-year-old man is accused of breaking into a business on Court Street in Utica, according to the Utica Police Department.
Police said Joshua Jones, of Utica, broke into the business earlier this week in the 800 block of Court St. Police said Jones rifled through a desk, stole some items and soiled both the bathroom and the hallway leading to the bathroom.
An employee arrived at work Wednesday morning and noticed the disturbance. Law enforcement officers responded to the scene and watched security camera footage, where they quickly recognized Jones, police stated.
Jones was located and taken into custody a short time later on one count each of third-degree burglary and petty larceny, police said. He is scheduled to appear in Utica City Court.
Some of the stolen items were recovered, police noted.
