Man accused of biting deputy in Madison County
BROOKFIELD — A Madison County man is accused of fighting with law enforcement officers following a domestic dispute earlier this month, according to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff’s deputies said Robert Ladd, 37, of Brookfield, was involved in a domestic dispute with another person at a residence on Route 8 on June 13. When deputies arrived on the scene and attempted to take Ladd into custody, authorities said Ladd fought back.
Ladd struck both deputies in the head multiple times and bit one deputy on the arm, authorities stated. When he was finally in custody, authorities added that Ladd repeatedly kicked the patrol car, damaging a door.
Ladd is charged with one count each of second and third-degree assault, second-degree harassment, fourth-degree mischief, second-degree obstruction of a governmental administration and resisting arrest, deputies stated. He was arraigned in court and was sent to the county jail without bail. He is scheduled to reappear in Brookfield Town Court.
