Madison-Oneida BOCES is offering a Heavy Equipment Operation course, scheduled to run from September 13 through November 3, 2021.
The course schedule is Monday through Thursday, 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Tuition is $2,350, and payment plans can be arranged, according to the BOCES announcement.
The course will provide students with hands-on experience with use of dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators and dump trucks and includes instruction in practical machinery care and daily maintenance.
All students will also participate in required instruction to receive certification in First Aid, CPR and OSHA 10.
Students must provide suitable clothing for the safe operation of machinery, including a hard hat and work gloves. A valid driver’s license and the purchase of a textbook is also required.
Students must be pre-registered by September 8, 2021, as class size is limited and space will be assigned on a first-come-first serve basis; so, registering as early as possible is recommended.
