WAMPSVILLE — Madison County officials have issued a statement regarding the recent death of Eaton Supervisor Clifford Moses.

“Cliff put everything he had into serving his community, whether that was as an educator or as town supervisor,” said Madison County Board Chairman John M. Becker. “He was a dear friend and colleague. My thoughts and prayers go out to his wife, Nancy, and the entire Moses family. We are all mourning the loss of a great man.”

Moses served as the town supervisor of Eaton from 2014 until his passing. While on the Board of Supervisors, he was a member of several committees and from January 2020 until September 2022, he served as vice chairman of the board.

Moses also served on the Government Operations Committee during his entire tenure with the county as well as on the Planning, Economic Development, Environmental and Intergovernmental Affairs Committee, of which he served as chairman since 2019.

Moses was also a member of the board’s Finance Ways and Means Committee and the Criminal Justice, Public Safety, and Emergency Communications Committee.
