WAMPSVILLE — The Madison County Board of Elections  is reminding residents that the deadline to register to vote in the upcoming general election is Friday, Oct. 14.

Those who are registered to vote by that date will be eligible to vote in the general election to held on Tuesday, Nov. 8. Early voting will begin on Saturday, Oct. 29, the county board of elections added.

The Madison County election officials said anyone who has moved since they last registered can re-register by mailing in a new registration form, updating information at www.dmv.ny.gov/mydmv, or going in person to the Board of Elections office.

Registration forms are available online from the Madison County Board of Elections by calling 315-366-2231.

Forms are also available at post offices and town, city, and village clerks offices.

Mailed registration forms must be postmarked no later than Friday, Oct. 14, and received no later than Wednesday, Oct. 19, officials added.

For those who wish to vote by absentee ballot, the absentee application forms are available from the board of elections and can be requested by calling the office or by downloading them from the board of elections’ website.

Residents may also come into the office at 138 N. Court St., Building 4, to apply for an absentee ballot in person. The last day to do this is Monday, Nov. 7.

The deadline for the board of elections to receive absentee ballot applications buy letter, telefax or through the absentee request portal is Monday, Oct. 24.
