ONEIDA — Interested in being a poll worker? Registered to vote? Voter registration and poll worker recruitment personnel from the Madison County Board of Elections will be set up at the Oneida Public Library today — Wednesday, Feb. 8 — from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Staff from the Madison County Board of Elections will be on hand to answer questions and offer voter registration forms to visitors. Also, equipment used during Madison County elections will be on display to familiarize voters with how the systems work, the voting process, and what people will see when they vote.

Residents of Madison County are welcome to attend. Residents of other counties are also invited to attend and registration can be forwarded to their county of residence. Due to the continuous need for poll workers throughout the county, there will be information about how to become a paid poll worker according to your availability and interests.

There are 32 polling sites throughout the county with both half-day and full-day shifts offered at some locations. Additionally, maintenance personnel are sought for the delivery and pick-up of the voting equipment the day before and after election days.

The right to vote is a treasured opportunity to participate in the governance of your local, state and federal representation and the staff at the Madison County Board of Elections are looking forward to serving you. Registration and information is readily available at the Madison County Board of Elections located at the Wampsville County Office building, next to the DMV.
