Recently on a bright summer night, I visited Bellamy Park on the Erie Canal here in Rome, New York.
No one else was there at the time and I gave myself the moment to take in all of its beauty and peacefulness. I commend the City of Rome for putting a lot of effort and money into beautifying the park with building boat launches, docks and a navigation center. That being said: Why doesn’t the city utilize this treasure for more than one weekend a year for the Canal Fest?
There are many other things that this wonderful park can be used for. Summer concerts with vendors and more, farmers markets, flea markets, to name just a few of the many possibilities. Just my thoughts
