Local soldiers retire from Army National Guard

Major General Ray Shields, adjutant general for the State of New York, named the recent retirement of members of the New York Army National Guard, marking their end of service to community, state and nation as part of the Army National Guard.

They are: 

Sgt. James Vincent, from Whitesboro, assigned to the 206th Military Police Company, retired from the New York Army National Guard last month after some 23 years of military service. Vincent first entered the military in September 1995.

Sgt. 1st Class Michael Barker, from Vernon, assigned to the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2-108th Infantry, retired from the New York Army National Guard last month after some 24 years of military service. Barker first entered the military in October 1994.
