Whether they’re being carved, painted, or put into a pie, a wide variety of pumpkins are ready for the picking this year.
Across Madison and Oneida Counties, there are farms, patches, and stands that are offering pumpkins ready to pick up or ready to pick off the vine.
Will’s Cackleberry Castle Pumpkin Farm
Will’s Cackleberry Castle Pumpkin Farm, located at 1175 Hillsboro Road in Camden, will have their field open through the end of October. Cackleberry Castle will be open Thursdays from 4 to 8:30 p.m.; Fridays from 4 to 9 p.m.; Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Sundays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and on Columbus Day from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

North Star Orchards
North Star Orchards, located at 4741 Route 223 in Westmoreland, will be offering U-Pick pumpkins the first three weekends in October from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Free wagon rides will be offered to the pumpkin patch.

Savicki’s Farm Market
Savicki’s Farm Market, located at 3295 Route 12 in Clinton, will be offering hayrides, U-Pick pumpkins, and U-Pick popcorn from Sept. 20 until Oct. 31.
Hayrides are $8 and include a few ears of corn and a pumpkin. U-Pick pumpkins cost between $2 and $6 depending on size. U-Pick ornamental or U-Pick ornamental and popcorn is 75 cents each or $2 for 3 ears. Reilly’s Pumpkin Stand
Reilly’s Pumpkin Stand, located at 3124 Route 69 in Taberg, will be open on weekdays from 12 to 5 p.m. and on weekends from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Critz Farms, located at 3232 Rippleton Road in Cazenovia, will have their fields open until late October from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Visitors are advised to contact Critz Farm or check their social media channels for updates.
Weekday visitors are free to pick pumpkins without paying an admission fee. On weekends, all visitors require an admission ticket to access the farm. Visitors can use a wheelbarrow and walk to the patch. Wagon rides will be offered on the weekends. Pumpkins are 39 cents per pound and payment is made in the gift shop.

Our Farm, located at 1590 Peth Road in Manlius, open their fields on Saturday, Oct. 3. Reservations will be required to control the number of people at the farm at any given time. Masks will be required. Admission is $6 per person and children under two enter for free.
Hours of operation have been extended this year, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pumpkins picked out in the field cost 30 cents a pound and pumpkins sold at the stand will cost varying by size. Wagon rides will be offered and follow social distancing and disinfectant guidelines set forth by New York state. A trebuchet is set up for people to launch pumpkins.
