Local historian Gary Ford will present a short oral history about local veterans and the brave sacrifices they made to protect the country at 1 p.m. Saturday,
Oct. 16, at Jervis Public Library, 613 N. Washington St.
Admission is free, but space is limited to 20 attendees, the program announcement said.
According to event organizers, “The best historians are the best storytellers. When it comes to war, the best stories are told by those who experienced them, both in combat and by those they left behind at the home front.”
“This presentation tells the stories that were shared by those veterans who served and sacrificed for the rest of us,” organizers said. “We get to look through their eyes as they try to tell us what it was like to be in combat.”
