Local girls soccer players named to Section III, TVL All-Star teams

Three Rome Free Academy girls varsity soccer players have been named to the Tri-Valley League Colonial Division All-Star team.

Junior midfielders Lauren Dorfman and Grace Engelbert and sophomore goalie Miranda McCormick were all named to the first team.

Dorfman was also named to the All-Section III All Star team, along with Vernon-Verona-Sherrill’s Laiken Kiser, who is a striker/midfielder.

Other Colonial Division first teamers were Whitesboro’s senior midfield Madison Keida and teammates Ryann DePerno, defense, and defense/midfield Madison Wisheart, both juniors. New Hartford senior Abby Fletcher, midfield, and junior Alison Falvo, defense/midfield, and sophomore’s Willa Pratt, midfield, and Anna Rayhill, forward, were also picked for the team. Rayhill was voted the TVL Colonial Division Player of the Year.

Senior defender Gianna DiMaggio, junior defense Johari Taylor and sophomore midfield/forward Nicolina Lokker were picked for the TVL Colonial Second-Team All-Stars. Also selected for the second team were New Hartford senior goalie Mia Allen, senior forward/midfield Erin Rayhill, junior midfield Kaitlynn Truax and sophomore midfield/forward Biddie Clive.

Whitesboro junior goalie Nora Vick, junior defense Peyton Steates and freshman forward/midfield Hannah Smith were selected for the Warriors.

In the Pioneer Division, Vernon-Verona-Sherrill senior striker and midfielder Anna Rossi was named TVL Pioneer Division Player of the Year, as well as being selected to the first team.

Rossi’s teammates, senior goalie Morgan Brewer, sophomore midfield Julia Carter and Kiser were also selected.

From Camden, three seniors were selected to the first team. They are forwards Molly Dunfield and Autumn Kahler and defense Katelyn Kirk.

From Central Valley Academy, sophomore goalie Hailey Looman and sophomore midfield Krista Panko and sophomore defense MiraBella Vitale were picked for the TVL Pioneer first team.

Notre Dame junior defense Jailey Trevisani and freshman defense Maggie Trinkaus round out the first team.

VVS had four named to the second team all-star team as well. Senior defenders Brooke Andrews and Lindsey Cable were picked and senior midfielders Karli Doig and Taylir Doig were also picked for the Red Devils.

Camden had three selected to the second-team. Junior forward Neveah Christmas, sophomore midfield Katie Hite and sophomore defender Katie McCarthy were picked for the Blue Devils.

On the second team from CVA was junior defender Madison Obreza, junior forward Emma Donahue and sophomore midfielder Megan Canipe.

Rounding out the second team from Notre Dame are senior goalie Abby Waite and junior forward Makayla Thomas.
