UTICA — O.B. Training and Sports Performance co-owners Ryan Obernesser and Christina D’Amico announced several new additions to their training staff.

David Mallozzi has joined the training facility as a full-time fitness coach. Tristan Hunzinger and Vanessa Lynn Colangelo will serve as part time coaches.

“We’re excited to build upon the strong coaching foundation O.B. Training delivers to our members by adding David, Tristan and Vanessa,” Obernesser said.

The three new coaches will help clients achieve their transformation goals through strategic and individualized goal planning, education and accountability.

The mission of O.B. Training is to help people make a permanent lifestyle change and discover rapid results through support, motivation and an outstanding level of customer service.

Mallozzi comes to O.B. Training after serving as director of personal training and special needs wellness with the Fitness Mill. He has a bachelor’s degree in exercise kinesiology from Penn State University and resides in Utica with his son and fiancée.

“My favorite part about being a trainer is being able to help people of all backgrounds become empowered through fitness and achieve their goals,” Mallozzi said.

Hunzinger is a student in the doctoral program for physical therapy at Utica University. He has a bachelor’s degree in health studies from Sienna College. He also currently works as a physical therapy aide with MVPT Physical Therapy in Rome. He currently resides in Rome.

“I am extremely grateful to be a new fitness coach with O.B. Training. I’m both proud and excited to continue to grow my knowledge and experience alongside an amazing family of coaches, members, and mentors who continue to push each other to be the best we can be every day,” Hunzinger said.

Colangelo graduated from Cazenovia College in 2008 and is now certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a personal trainer. She also works for CMN Creative as a graphic designer and project manager. She lives in Whitesboro with her husband and two kids. “Working with the members at O.B. Training has been immensely rewarding, and I’m looking forward to helping people along their own personal fitness and wellness journeys,” said Colangleo.

“David’s and Tristan’s educational backgrounds will contribute a wealth of knowledge to the specific needs of our clients, and Vanessa’s passion for fitness and wellness and her desire to connect more with others will help improve the quality of life for everyone she works with,” said D’Amico.
