Local financial adviser earns CFP certification

NEW HARTFORD — Michael Frederick Marchio, CFP, ChFC a financial adviser with Northwestern Mutual, has been authorized by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. to use the CFP certification marks in accordance with CFP certification requirements.

At Northwestern Mutual – New Hartford, Marchio partners with engineering and technical professionals to help them develop comprehensive financial plans tailored to plan for and achieve their life goals.

The CFP certification recognizes individuals who have met experience and ethical requirements, have completed financial planning coursework, and have passed the CFP Certification Examination. Certificants must also meet ongoing continuing education requirements and uphold CFP Board’s ethics and professional responsibility and practice standards.
