ROME — Jervis Public Library will host local author Vincent Palmieri to talk about his first book, “Ruthie Deeply,” at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21 in the library’s accessible auditorium.

After forging a close friendship with Ruth Morgan, Palmieri was inspired to tell her story of overcoming hardships in the state’s foster care system from the 1930s through the 1950s.

The collaborative book contains many personal accounts from Morgan and conversations between the two.

Palmieri is a retired special education teacher who has since been developing his writing career.

He is currently working on his second book, “The King of Orchard Street,” which also has regional ties.

Jervis Public Library is at 613 North Washington St. No registration is required for this free program.

For more information, call the library at 315-336-4570.
