AUBURN — Schweinfurth Art Center’s Member Show will open Saturday, April 17 and feature 70 works of art by members of the art center.

This year’s show, the Schweinfurth’s third, will be featured in the main gallery.

“After the past year, it’s exciting to welcome back our members’ artwork,” said Executive Director Donna Lamb. “While we cannot hold an opening, we encourage people to make a reservation to see the exhibit, which celebrates artistic creativity in all its forms.”

This year’s exhibition includes paintings, sculptures, drawings, screen prints, photography, mixed media, and textiles. All but one artist is from New York, with 27 from Onondaga County and 13 from Cayuga County. Other locations that are home to several Schweinfurth artists are the Rochester and Finger Lakes regions.

The Member Show will be on display from April 17 through May 29. Admission is $7, which can be purchased in advance from the art center’s website at myartcenter.org. Children age 12 and younger are free. Reservations are recommended due to COVID restrictions on the number of people allowed in the building at one time.

The following artist is included in Member Show 2021:

Stephen Carpenter, North Bay, “Waters of Babylon — The Geometer’s Night Sky”

Hours of operation of the art center are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays and 1-5 p.m. Sundays.

Visitors are encouraged to call 315-255-1553 to make a reservation to view the exhibit. Occupancy restrictions may cause visitors to wait to enter the building.
