Lighted corn maze, wagon rides highlight Halloween fun

This week Wagner Farms, 5895 Old Oneida Road, is home to numerous Halloween activities. Among the upcoming Halloween and autumn events include:

• Tonight, (Wednesday, Oct. 28) and Thursday, Oct. 29, from 6 to 9 p.m. will be a non-haunted kids night with a lighted corn maze and wagon rides. The cost is $5 per person.

• On Saturday, Oct. 31, from noon to 4 p.m. there will be a kids trick or treat event (for those 16 and under) in the corn maze. There is no charge for trick or treating and wagon rides will be available for $5 per person.

“...Kids 16 and younger will be given a bag to collect candy that has been donated from over 20 different local businesses. Also we will be handing out one single serve bag of microwave ready Wagner’s BEST popcorn to each kid plus a string cheese that has been donated by our cheese supplier. We will also be
giving away a free apple and gourd or mini pumpkin to each kid doing trick or treat. Wagon rides will be given for free during the event thanks to a generous donation that has been made by one of our staff members,” said farm owner Ron Wagner in a statement.

The walk through trail will have 10 candy spots along the “mostly” mud free grass seeded way, is wheelchair friendly and enough space for social distancing.

Wagner added that actors working at the event will also be wearing frequently changed gloves. And, groups traveling through the maze will be spaced out by staff.

“Rain or shine, we will be open for the event. We ask the public to come prepared for the weather and have fun...” Wagner said, asking those who come to stay on the path and not damage the corn crop.

- Also on Halloween night there will be an event for adults 17 and over. The cost is $10 per person.
