WESTERN — Members of the Board of Trustees of Western Town Library will host a chicken barbecue fundraiser to support the library starting at noon Saturday, Sept. 17.

The menu consists of a half-chicken grilled by Bob Mierek using his famous marinade, salt potatoes with butter, Bush’s baked beans, a roll baked fresh that morning at Ferlo’s bakery and a half moon cookie baked fresh that morning at Hemstrought’s Bakery.

The library will also host the bluegrass band, High Adventure, that same day at the Western Town Park Pavilion from noon to 2 p.m. Performers include George Stevens from Sandy Creek on guitar, (formerly from Western), Tim Blodgett from Orwell on guitar, Jackie Hobbs from Lorraine on fiddle, Melanie Glur from Taberg vocals, and Bob Glur also from Taberg on U bass guitar. The group plays bluegrass and gospel music. Attendees may bring a lawn chair or blanket. There is no charge for the performance.
