TOWN OF LEWIS — A Lewis County woman registered a blood alcohol content of more than twice the legal limit Sunday afternoon, according to law enforcement officials.
Sheriff’s deputies said Katherine A. Brown, 69, of West Leyden, was pulled over for multiple traffic infractions on Route 26 at about 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
Once stopped, the sheriff’s deputies said that Brown registered a blood alcohol content (BAC) of 0.19% — more than twice the legal threshold of 0.08%.
Deputies noted that Brown has had a previous drunken driving conviction within the past 10 years.
Brown is charged with one count each of aggravated driving while intoxicated and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, both felonies, as well as resisting arrest and multiple vehicle and traffic tickets, authorities stated.
She was arraigned in court and was released on her own recognizance, the law enforcement officials added.
Brown is scheduled to reappear in court to answer the charges, authorities said.
