Lewis County woman accused in underage drinking sting
WEST LEYDEN — A Lewis County woman is accused of selling alcohol to a minor at the Hill Top Market in West Leyden during an underage drinking sting operation, according to the New York State Police.
State police said they held an underage drinking sting on March 18 at multiple convenience and liquor stores in Lowville, Glenfield, Port Leyden, Constableville and other Lewis County locations. Thirteen of the tested stores did not sell alcohol to the underage actors working with the state police.
Stephanie N. Redmond, 29, of Lyons Falls, sold alcohol to a minor while working as a clerk at the Hill Top Market on Route 26 in West Leyden, troopers said. Redmond is charged with one count each of first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child and prohibitive sale of alcohol to a person under 21, troopers stated.
Redmond was released on an appearance ticket to Lewis Town Court for April 13.
