PORT LEYDEN — A Lewis County man taken in for drunken driving received a few more charges after kicking the wall at the Sheriff’s Office, according to law enforcement officials.
Sheriff’s deputies said Joshua D. Rogers, 35, of Shibley Road, was driving on North Street at about 11 p.m. Saturday when his vehicle crashed. Deputies said Rogers was found to be driving drunk and he refused all testing.
While at the sheriff’s office, authorities said Rogers twice kicked a wall in the booking room, damaging the drywall.
Rogers is charged with driving while intoxicated, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, unregistered vehicle, uninspected vehicle, uninsured vehicle, improper plates, unsafe backing, failure to keep right and fourth-degree mischief, deputies stated. He was arraigned in court and was sent to county jail without bail.
He is scheduled to reappear in court.
