Lewis County child found

WATSON — A 3-year-old child was found more than a mile from his home in Lewis County after wandering off with his dogs, according to the New York State Forest Rangers.

Authorities said the young boy was reported missing with a pair of dogs at about 10:18 a.m. May 11. Authorities said he was last spotted on a. neighbor's security camera across the street at 9:47 a.m., and it was believed he might be on the wooded trails behind the family's home.

A search of the area began and uncovered a diaper some distance north of the home, officials said.

At 1:45 p.m., a logger found the child in the woods roughly one and a quarter miles from his home, authorities stated. The logger drove the child out to the road and alerted a nearby forest ranger.

The child was evaluated and returned to his parents.
