LETTER: Trump tax returns merit scrutiny
Thank you to those Republican voters of Oneida County who answered my question about why they chose Trump over the Constitution.
One denied Trump actually wanted to terminate the Constitution, but just the rules it contains. Another said it was because Trump was such a great leader of the military. Well, you should remember that Trump’s first visit to the Pentagon with all the senior military leaders in “The Tank” resulted in Trump calling them a bunch of idiots and making such a scene that his own Secretary of State who was present called Trump an “…. moron” afterwards – which Rex Tillerson never denied.
Also, consider that if Trump had won in 2020 that Putin would now be in Kyiv and the U.S. would be out of NATO — my predictions only, of course, but I spent 30 years in uniform. Trust me, Trump was not a friend of the U.S. military.
For the one who questioned the debunking of conspiracy theories, the answer is simple. Trump’s lawyers brought their cases for fraudulent voting before the courts 62 times, and 61 times they were thrown out. If you can’t provide evidence to a court of law, your “theory” is debunked — period. The movie “2000 Mules” no more proved voting fraud than the delightful movie “Miracle on 34th Street” proved there was a Santa Claus.
Now my question is: Doesn’t it bother you that the “billionaire” Trump paid less in federal taxes than most of you did for four of the last six years? And that he was never under audit as he had claimed (lied) when he refused to release his taxes? And you know his company has already been convicted of tax fraud.
Is this how a “great businessman” can go from multiple bankruptcies to billionaire status in 15 years – by just not paying taxes? We won’t know until Trump actually is audited – hopefully to the level of detail his administration apparently directed in audits of the previous director and deputy director of the FBI.
Republicans have many able governors – Hutchinson, Logan and Sununu to name a few – who have extensive administrative experience and are not pathological liars or tainted by the stench of insurrection. Why not get behind one of them?
