I am very interested in what happens in Rome, NY. I was a young man in the 1970s, and I remember a city planner saying, “We have the money. Use it or lose it!” In regards to the two parking garages. Now one of them is gone and the other needs major repair. I think the Fort Stanwix development was a good thing. But why did the stores come down that did not have to on the 100 and 200 block of West Dominic street?

Now we have a failed Erie Canal Village. The land where it is now is more than 100 acres, why not put more things there like rides to draw more people? The local historical part of course is a good idea for those who are interested. Maybe a steakhouse near the entrance, would be nice. Just more things to draw more people. It is so sad to the place sit and waste away.

Rome is the city that I love still, and I see it in trouble. Let’s save it now!
