LETTER: Denton rated ‘highly qualified’ for Supreme Court
I write to urge all voters to cast their ballot for Julie Grow Denton for NYS Supreme Court justice this November.
Julie grew up in Rome, graduated from Harvard Law School with honors and returned to Central New York to practice law and serve the community.
As an attorney I have known Julie personally and professionally for decades. I have had many professional dealings with her, both when she was in private practice and in her current role as Principal Court Attorney in the Oneida County Surrogate’s Court. In all my dealings with her she has been unfailingly patient, courteous, respectful and extremely knowledgeable on the law.. And she treats everyone, both her clients and fellow attorneys, just the same. She is also a great listener. These are the same qualities and characteristics that we should all look for in a judge. Julie will bring these same qualities to the bench. They are part of her DNA.
My fellow attorneys agree with me. Julie has been rated “highly qualified”” by the Oneida County, Onondaga County and CNY Women’s Bar Associations and “recommended as qualified” by the Oswego County Bar Association. These are the highest ratings that can be given.
Central New Yorkers deserve to have the best judges representing our communities. We can all take pride that we have the opportunity to vote for a candidate who will bring her small town Central New New York values and Harvard education to the bench. Please join me in electing Julie Grow Denton as a NYS Supreme Court justice. She will make us proud.
— J. Kevin O’Shea, Rome
