Leonard G. Williams


BOONVILLE — Leonard G. Williams, 77 of Woodgate Drive passed away July 4, 2018 at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, Utica.

He was born in Boonville on December 6, 1940 a son of George and Doris Talcott Williams. He graduated from Boonville High School and on September 17, 1966 he Married Karen Fitch at St. Joseph’s Church, Boonville. They settled on Erwin St and then moved to lower Schuyler St. where they lived for 40 years. In 2008 they moved to Woodgate Dr. Karen died November 22, 2013. Leonard was a letter carrier in the village of Boonville for the post office beginning around 1980. He also tended bar at the Hulbert House for many years.

He was very active in the Boonville Lodge of Elks 2158, where he served as a past exalted ruler, state vice president and district deputy. He enjoyed hunting, bowling and golf.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Martin Seeley, Lewisville, N.C.; one son and daughter-in-law, George Grant Williams and wife, Barbara Carey, Tucson, AZ.; five grandchildren, Kyle Armstrong, Cy and Brayden Seeley, Leonard (Leo) and Henry Williams; one sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Joe Muha, Boonville; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Bourgeois, (Jay Silverman), Jean Williams and Frieda Fitch; several nieces and nephews and brother-in-law, Ronnie Bourgeois. He was predeceased by a brother Daniel in 2007, and brother-in-law Kenneth Fitch 2012.

The Williams family would like to thank Sunset Nursing and Rehab . Center and St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center for all the wonderful care given to Leonard.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at 11 a.m. at the Mills Funeral Home, 301 Post St. Boonville with Rev. Jack Ford, pastor of Boonville United Methodist Church officiating. Burial in Boonville Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Members of the Boonville Elks Lodge will conduct services on Monday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Donation in his memory may be made to Boonville Elks, 2158 State Route 12, Boonville.
