TOWN OF LEE — A 31-year-old man has been charged with having an inappropriate conversation with a 14-year-old girl via Facebook Messenger.

Kenneth Tennant III, of Lee, was involved in a conversation over Messenger with the 14-year-old girl in March, according to Sgt. Melissa M. Bolton and Det. Edwin A. D’Alessandro with the county Child Advocacy Center. Following an investigation, Tennant was taken into custody on Tuesday.

Tennant is charged with one count of endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor, authorities said.

He was arraigned in City Court and was sent to county jail in lieu of bail.

He is scheduled to reappear in court.
