TOWN OF LEE — A 32-year-old man has been charged following a domestic dispute in the Town of Lee Sunday afternoon.

Sheriff’s deputies said Carlos A. Velez-Perez, of Lee, was involved in a domestic dispute in Lee at about 5 p.m. Sunday. Deputies said the domestic turned physical and Velez-Perez both prevented the other person from leaving and damaged a phone to keep the other person from calling for help.

Law enforcement responded to the residence and Velez-Perez was taken to Rome Memorial Hospital for a medical evaluation. Following the evaluation, Velez-Perez was taken into custody.

Velez-Perez is charged with one count each of second-degree imprisonment, fourth-degree mischief and second-degree harassment, deputies stated. He is scheduled to appear in court.
