Learn about the KTL Youth Market May 16


CLINTON — This summer students entering grades 6-12 can sell art, crafts, produce, or baked goods at the Clinton Farmer’s Market, and Kirkland Town Library, 55 1/2 College St., will host an informational session about the market on Monday, May 16.

Market dates will be June 30, July 28, and Aug. 25 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. To find out more, attend an information session on May 16 at 6 p.m.

Area happenings

Kirkland Town Library maintains the sign on the Clinton Village Green. Local non-profit groups with events happening in the Town of Kirkland are invited to submit requests for the sign. Visit www.kirklandtownlibrary.org/village-sign for details.

Book clubs

KTL offers two book clubs that are open to the public and welcome new members any time. The Monday group meets on the second Monday of each month at noon; their next meeting is May 9 to discuss, “Eventide,” by Kent Haruf.

The Wednesday group meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m.; they will meet on May 25 to discuss, “A Place For Us,” by Fatima Kent Haruf. For more information or to get a copy of the book, stop by the KTL or call 315-853-2038.

Seed exchange

The KTL Seed Exchange is now open. The library offers heirloom, locally-saved, open-pollinated seeds free of charge to the community. Participants are encouraged, but not required, to return seeds to keep the exchange self-sustaining. All are welcome to browse the Seed Exchange, choose packets of seeds (free of charge), and take them home. Planting instructions are available.
