Law enforcers crack down on drunken driving, seat belt use
The state police and other local law enforcement agencies will be cracking down on drunken and dangerous driving over the Memorial Day weekend.
The crackdown will start on Friday and will run through Tuesday, May 30, the law enforcers have announced.
The STOP-DWI enforcement will see an increase in law enforcement patrols and sobriety checkpoints. State police will be using both marked patrol cars and unmarked vehicles as they search for drunk, impaired and reckless driving.
Law enforcement officers from across the state are also participating in the two-week Click It or Ticket campaign to enforcement seat belt use. That crackdown began on Monday and will last through June 5.
